Author, Jessica Coulter Smith

Jessica Coulter Smith was born in Tennessee, but travelled all over starting at the age of ten.  Having lived in Georgia, California, Texas, and Lousiana, she has once again made her home in Tennessee... for now.  A wife and mother, she often finds herself chasing small children around the house.  An avid animal lover, she has two cats, two dogs, a bird, and a horse.  The list would be longer, but her husband said it was him or the animals... he was relieved she chose to keep him.

Her first book, Whispering Lake, was published by Hearts on Fire in 2008.  However, this wasn't the first attempt Jessica made at writing.  She still has a YA novel that she started when she was thirteen.  One of these days, she plans on blowing the dust off of it and completing the story.  In addition, she has received several awards for poetry and has five published poems in various anthologies, the first of which was published when she was sixteen.
